I CAUGHT MYSELF DOING IT AGAIN: looking ahead to the future, wondering when ‘the other shoe might drop’ after considering how great something was – thus allowing my own thoughts to steal joy from the moment.
We’ve all done it
Those ‘what happens if’ and ‘what will I do when’ thoughts.
Reminders around this very topic are often a part of my writing.
(And yes, I did use the word ‘thus’ in that first paragraph. 😉)
A reminder for us all today to just ‘be’ in the moment. Enjoy it, savour it.
How? By just being there, wherever we are – without looking ahead to a time without ‘it’ or to the time when it is over or complete.
The best way to honour an experience we enjoy is to savour it while it’s available.
When you catch your mind drifting toward ‘what ifs’ and ‘what about whens’ – it’s natural, so don’t be hard on yourself.
But remind yourself that all is unfolding in your best interest – always.
Trust that no matter what happens or when, you will get through it.
Bring yourself back to the moment you are enjoying and simply be there. ❤
