Last night I had a bout of anxiety, something I haven’t experienced in a couple of years. It was the closest to an anxiety attack I’ve had in an even longer stretch of time.

I share this with you not for sympathy, nor for any other reason other than as a reminder that everyone feels a bit “off” sometimes. Daily life, difficult challenging situations or decisions, or just simple concerns or questions can become bigger in our minds than they ever need be. Sometimes they manifest themselves in various forms of emotion or stress, depression or anxiety.

Being an energy worker doesn’t mean immunity to these experiences. It just means there may be different tools or approaches to use which may fend off such situations, perhaps “nipping them in the bud,” or shortening their duration.

The great thing about my anxiety last night: I didn’t feel like a victim of it, as I knew I had tools from my spiritual toolbox to use. As a result, the experience lasted a short time.

Many years ago anxiety would have me awake for hours, and then waking up again in the middle of the night, unable to get back to sleep. The tools I use may be a little different than what you do if you experience anxiety (whether or not you’re an energy worker), and also slightly different again from your friend or neighbour who also does spiritual work. We are all unique (like the leaves in the picture) in our gifts and our practices and how we choose to apply them and approach problems. We can all learn from each other, and also do what feels right for us.

So what did I do for my anxiety? First, I did some energy and spiritual clearing of my immediate vicinity. Then I connected in with the archangels that I work with – AA Metatron and AA Jophiel.

I used a new, super-short, very impactful energy clearing technique on myself that I have been recently gifted. In this practice I work primarily with AA Jophiel. After I slept I awoke much more energetic, only an echo or residual feeling of the anxiety arose if I consciously thought about it. At such a point, I would simply visualize the feeling, where I felt it in my body, and would envision it disintegrating, and then the space left being immediately filled with loving energy.

If you are being impacted by anxiety, or another negative emotion, here are a few things you could try:

~ Often tears can provide a valuable release; there’s no shame in crying, and it can bring great relief.

-Try focusing in on where exactly in your body you notice the emotion or stress, whether in your head or elsewhere – be open to whatever arises. Visualize what it looks like and/or feels like: what shape and size is it? Where is it – in or around what part of your body? Envision the shape, size, location – and then feel and/or see in your mind’s eye the image of it disintegrating, dissolving, disappearing. \

– Try putting your hand on that part of your body where you feel the anxiety. Do this at any time, or also try it after you have done the visualization technique above. Feel your hand and know that loving energy is coming through.

– Last but certainly not least: be kind to yourself. How would you comfort a friend or family member, someone you care about – who was experiencing such a feeling? Be gentle and understanding. It will pass. Healing may be heightened, stronger, and faster with an energy practitioner, but these practices are still incredibly valuable in anyone’s own self-care toolbox. Give them a try. Let me know your thoughts or experiences if you feel called to, or if you have questions, or if you have other techniques to share.
