MANY OF US HAVE HEARD what is sometimes called the golden rule: Treat others as you would have others treat you.

But what if we were to consider the phrase with this slight adjustment: TREAT YOURSELF AS YOU WOULD TREAT OTHERS.

So often we’re harder on ourselves than we are on others.

When it comes to perceived failings, mistakes or errors, decisions or even concerns about the future, we can tend to go easier on others – supporting them, encouraging them, and simply helping them feel more at ease about whatever it is they’re going through.

Meanwhile, we might feed our own fears with criticism and doubts, negative self-talk and a quest for the problems instead of the opportunity in our situation – spiraling ourselves further away from the kindness we would likely show others in a similar situation.

Inviting you to simply treat yourself a little more like you would treat a friend today, and see what you notice. ❤
